Kenny’s Tip of the Day - Music as a Drug!!!
Is music a drug? Obviously, I’m not going to get into describing something as abstract as music or any art as being a pharmaceutical but one thing is quite clear. People use recreational drugs to change their current state of consciousness. For good or for bad.
If you want to change your current state, I can think of no safer and more direct way of doing that then putting some great emotional music on. It’s what music does. It’s what it is. Music changes your frame of mind.
Sure. It’s temporary. But sometimes that’s just what you need. A reset button for your emotions. And more than any drug I can think of, you can directly change your state of mind based on the music you put on right now.
You can make yourself feel sad. Make yourself feel happy. At least happier. That’s what music can do for any of us and it’s even faster or more immediate than any drug I can think of.
So the next time you want to change your emotions, remember you can always turn on some great music. New or old. It doesn’t matter. Music is NOT about the notes. It’s not always about the lyrics either. It’s about how it can change how people are feeling. We are the music makers and we can change how people feel. Good luck.
